Adam previously worked as a primary patent examiner with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office where he examined applications in mechanical engineering Art Unit 3786, including miscellaneous devices, medical instruments, orthotic devices, and surgical accessories.

With nearly 10 years of experience at USPTO, Adam has developed deep experience in conducting prior art searches, responding to applicants, negotiating with lawyers, and determining allowable subject matter.

A recent precedential Federal Circuit decision further clarifies the limited scope of judicial review over PTAB institution-related rulings, holding that refusal by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board to resolve a disputed real-party-in-interest issue under 35 U.S.C. § 312(a)(2) is unreviewable on appeal.
